About Us

Andrew founded Play Sports Leagues Ltd in 2009, and the Play Badminton brand was born in 2024. Play Badminton quickly became the UK’s largest provider of social Badminton leagues and has gone from strength to strength since. Andrew is extremely proud of our fantastic team who continue to fulfil our original mission of providing high quality social Badminton leagues that have a hugely positive impact on so many people’s health, fitness and mental wellbeing.

Rob and director, Andrew, decided to branch out into social Badminton leagues in 2024, after the success of Play Netball and Play 5-A-Side. Play Badminton is in its early days but Rob is confident it wont be long until Play Badminton will have as many leagues as Play Netball all across the country.

Tamsin joined Play Badminton in 2024 whilst continuing her role within Play Netball and Play 5-A-Side following graduating from Cardiff Metropolitan with a Masters in Sports Psychology. She now manages our administration team across all three branches of our Play Sports Leagues company, organising the daily routines of all our social leagues across the UK. Tamsin also liaises with all Match Night Coordinators, making sure everything runs smoothly their end. Outside of work, Tamsin enjoys playing netball twice a week.

Rachel joined Play Badminton in 2024 after previously working for the NHS 111 service. In her role, Rachel helps to organise the running of all Play Badminton leagues across the UK, ensuring they are set up and run smoothly. Outside of work, Rachel keeps busy looking after her 3 dogs and 3 cats whilst playing and coordinating 4 days a week in our Canterbury, Ashford and Maidstone Play Netball Leagues.

Alison has been part of the Play Sports League team since 2021 after previously working at a newspaper publishing group. She now leads Play Badminton’s marketing strategies as well as oversees all social media channels, brand partnerships, and key public events. Outside of work, she plays netball for a local club in Eastleigh and loves going for long hikes (The Three Peaks Challenge is on her bucket list)! Alison’s last experience of playing Badminton was at school but is looking forward to see where the Play Sports League team takes Play Badminton.   

Hannah started working for the Play Badminton marketing team in the Summer of 2024. Hannah enjoys both traditional and digital marketing and uses her skills in design, social media, copywriting and photography to carry out her role. Hannah played Badminton all through school and finished her Badminton ‘career’ playing for Berkshire. Hannah has grown up playing a variety of different sports, from riding horses, swimming for Southern England and competing in long distance running competitions.

Each of our leagues will have one designated coordinator who’s role is to umpire and make sure matches on the night run smoothly and efficiently. Our Coordinators have plenty of experience when it comes to umpiring and playing Badminton; they are here to help guide you back into the sport, but most importantly, they want to make sure you’re having fun!
